Its not too late to become a member before our first ever Member Event.  We will be giving members a sneak peek of our newest exhibit which is the first in a series of exhibits focused on deceased veteran parents and grandparents.  The exhibit is entitled Veteran Forefathers and is a joint project between the museum and the descendants of Veterans.  We hope you stop by the museum to see it!

The Member Event is March 10th at the museum from 6-7:30pm which light refreshments provided.  Its a wonderful opportunity to meet and get to know other members and the Board of Directors.

We are in search of some dedicated volunteers to help further the museum’s mission!  If you have interest in the following categories or are looking for a dynamic group of which to be a part, please contact the museum.

The BVMM will be closed Thursday, November 24th in observance of Thanksgiving Day.  Please come in Saturday and bring your out-of-town guests with you!  We will have a wonderful Coffee and Conversation presentation and guided tours.

Rosie the Riveter 

October 5th, 7pm

Broomfield Library, Eisenhower Room

But who was the real Rosie?  Was she just one woman or one of many who stood up to fill an important need and ultimately helped win the war?  Instead of a lecture, a local author, Shirley Jamiel, has created a skit of Rosie the Riveter which takes a creative venue of answering the questions many have asked over the years.  It is set in an imaginary interview by a recently retired television talk show host who asks, “Who are you and will the real Rosie the Riveter please stand up?”

April 20th, 7pm – Broomfield Auditorium

We have a really neat event coming up in a few weeks.  We are partnering with Mountain Time Media and the City and County of Broomfield Cultural Affairs Division to provide this important and inspiring film.  $10-15 donations are graciously accepted at the door.  Proceeds will be split between Mountain Time Media and the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum.

We had such a great time last month when the Studebaker Club came to visit!  Here are some of the great cars they brought along as well as the fantastic Weasel we were excited to show the group.  Thanks to Lou for letting us borrow it!

Exciting news for the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum in 2016.  We will now be open two days a week!  Starting on January 14th, the museum will be open on THURSDAYS from 10am – 2pm.  Of course we will still be open on Saturdays from 9am – 3pm and by appointment on other days.  We look forward to our increased access to the public and are anxious for you to stop in on a Thursday!  Happy New Years from al of us here at the museum, we hope that 2016 brings you and yours joy, health and peace!
